In response to the recommendation of setting up a regulatory body for coaching institutes by Committee comprising of IIT Directors, Official sources said it was “not the ministry’s job to regulate private coaching institutes”. Instead, the ministry would take “effective” measures to “gradually” improve school education system, besides bringing in changes in the current format of entrance examinations conducted for admissions to centrally funded technical institutes in a couple of years.

JEE Board released Executive Summary for JEE 2015.
Executive summary
- Seat allocation was done jointly with NITs, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and Other GFTIs. The deferred acceptance (DA) algorithm was used for seat allocation using multiple rank lists from three different examinations viz., JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-1, JEE (Main) 2015 Paper-2 and JEE (Advanced) 2015.
- Only 1.24 Lakh out of the 1.52 Lakh eligible candidates registered to appear for JEE (Advanced) 2015 [this number was 1.26 L in 2014]. Of these, nearly 25,000 candidates qualified for admission.
- In 2014, 52 seats were not allotted at the end of Round 3. In 2015, all the 10,006 seats were allotted in each and every round. The number of seats not accepted was 610, 130 and 50 at the end of Rounds 1, 2 and 3, respectively. If we had the latitude to go for another round of seat allotment, this number would have further decreased.

After introducing major changes in IIT Admission Process in 2013, on 24-May-2015 (Sunday) JEE Advanced 2015, stage-2 for IIT Admission Process was conducted. 1.52 Lakh students were selected to appear for this exam, although only 1.22 Lakh students were eligible to sit for exam based on various pre criteria. On 4th April 2015, JEE (Main) 2015 was conducted for students opting to take this exam by offline mode. This is the third edition of this exams after wide ranging changes were introduced 2 years ago by CBSE and Ministry of HRD. Over 13 Lakh students have filled application form for JEE (Main) 2015 in offline and online modes this year. JEE (Main) 2015 was conducted in two parts (Paper 1 and Paper 2).
Paper 1 was conducted from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and Paper 2 for B. Arch. Aspirants was conducted from 2 PM to 5 PM. Paper 1 of JEE (Main) was for students vying for engineering seats in Engineering colleges, while paper 2 this Exam was for students willing for B. Arch degrees across India.
